World Photographic Cup 2020 : Team UK

The WPC was founded in 2013 as a cooperative effort by The Federation of European Photographers (FEP) and Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Its singular goal is to unite photographers in a spirit of friendship and cooperation. A Governing Committee has been created to conduct the ongoing affairs of the competition, also supported by UAPP (United Asian Professional Photography) and AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photography).

The brotherhood and sisterhood of photography is a bond that transcends language, culture, and geography. That’s the foundation behind the World Photographic Cup, a one-of-a-kind international team competition. Sure, there are lots of other competitions, but there is just one World Photographic Cup. 

“The World Photographic Cup is fast becoming the most important photographic competition in the world today. Last year they showcased the very best in contemporary photography from 32 countries including USA, China, Finland, Mexico & Russia amongst many others. There are six different categories and Australia were last year’s winners overall.

In past years United Kingdom has been poorly represented. It’s time for the BIPP to put the United Kingdom back on the map!. In the spirit of 1966 lets bring the world cup back to Britain!!!

The 2020 WPC ceremony will be held in Rome and Martin Baynes has asked me as team captain to gather a squad of the best talent that United kingdom have to offer. I would like to ask the whole membership to offer up their very best images so that we can choose a world beating team entry. You can offer an image in just one category or several if you prefer. The rules state that there is no time limit for when the image was taken so you can select your very best images for consideration as long as you are the original artist and hold the copyright to allow its usage.

The team can enter up to three images in each category but no photographer can enter more than one image in a single category so we are after just your very best images for each category. Feel free to enter up to three of you best images in any single category and we will decide which we feel is the best one. You can enter just one image for a single category or up to three images for each, the choice is yours. We will then decide the final images to be put forward based on the very best available.

We need to get three excellent entries in each category to have a chance at being up there on the podium so let’s see what you’ve got.

We need to receive your entries by 26th August so that we have enough time to carefully select our entries. We will then reveal the final team by 1st September. Please send your entries as soon as possible to avoid a last minute rush.
